Together, We Can Empowering Lives Through Inclusive Development
Our Mission
Our Core Initiatives & Community Impact
The Indus Future Foundation (IFF) works to build a just and inclusive society by focusing on civic education, fiscal accountability, and social support. It empowers youth through conventions and grassroots leadership programs, including Youth Conventions and Citizens’ Assemblies at local levels. The organization has trained over 50 volunteers and 35 youth leaders in governance and democratic participation. IFF also promotes budget transparency and fair allocation of public resources by engaging stakeholders in discussions on education and health budgeting. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it supported schools by providing essential hygiene supplies. Additionally, it raises awareness about sanitation, hygiene, and reproductive health, while supporting persons with disabilities and empowering rural women through skill development for economic independence.
What we do
Our History
The Indus Future Foundation (IFF) was established in July 2011 and began its official operations in August 2011. The foundation was formed by a group of like-minded individuals with experience in national and international organizations who identified significant capacity issues and socio-economic vulnerabilities following the 2010 super floods in Pakistan. Youth Conventions & Leadership: We empower the next generation of leaders by organizing Youth Conventions and capacity-building events. These forums provide a platform for young people to discuss democratic values, the state of local governance, and their role in social change. By training youth volunteers on systems like the Sindh Local Government Act, we bridge the gap between young citizens and the political process. Budget Advocacy & Tax Justice: We work to ensure that public resources are managed transparently and equitably. Our budget advocacy initiatives focus on monitoring local government spending and advocating for allocations that prioritize the needs of marginalized communities. Through our tax justice programs, we raise awareness about fair taxation systems and demand accountability in how tax revenue is reinvested into essential social services like education and healthcare. Inclusion & Disability Support (PWDs): The foundation is committed to the principle of “leaving no one behind.” We actively support Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) by facilitating access to assistive devices and mobility aids. Beyond physical support, we advocate for the rights of PWDs in civic spaces, ensuring that infrastructure, electoral processes, and social services are inclusive and accessible to all. Civic Awareness & Citizen Assemblies: We organize Citizens’ Assemblies at the town and city levels to foster a culture of local accountability. These assemblies serve as a bridge between the community and the government, allowing citizens to voice their demands regarding local elections, infrastructure needs, and the removal of barriers that prevent women and vulnerable groups from participating in public life. Human Rights & Social Justice: At the core of our operations is a commitment to a just and peaceful society. We facilitate social movements that advocate for equal access to basic services regardless of religious, racial, or linguistic backgrounds. This includes promoting women’s participation in the electoral process and ensuring that the norms of the Election Commission are followed for free and fair representation.
